Baked Beans
Ingredients
- 1 pound dried navy beans
- 15 ounces bacon ends chopped
- 1 large Spanish onion chopped
- 1 cup molasses
- 2 tablespoons packed dark brown sugar
- 1 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons dry mustard
- 1/2 teaspoons pepper
- 1 bay leaf
Instructions
- Soak beans overnight in room temperature water.
- Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F.
- Combine soaked drained beans with remaining ingredients and 4 cups of water in a dutch oven.
- Cook covered for 1 hour then stir, cook for another hour.
- Stir again. leaving uncovered to bake for another hour.
- Pull from the oven and let sit for 10 minutes covered again and serve.
