In a small skillet over medium-low heat, add 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar until sugar is dissolved As an alternative, the mixture can also be heated in the microwave.
Remove the sugar and water mixture from heat and let cool to room temperature.
Squeeze enough lemons for 1 cup lemon juice. I strain the lemon juice into a pitcher, since my kids don't like the pulp. If you want to include the plup, just remove seeds before adding to pitcher.
Add the sugar and water mixture to the same pitcher along with 2 cups cold filtered water.
Pour into a tall glass over ice and enjoy!
